Overview of the role
We are looking for a skilled Paint Technician to join our Body Shop team in Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces, applying primer and painting in line with manufacturer standards, and restoring vehicle finishes through polishing and refinishing. What you do
• Prepare damaged vehicle surfaces by applying body filler, sanding, and priming as required.
• Apply paint to vehicles and components according to manufacturer repair standards.
• Carry out polishing, rubbing, and compounding to restore a high-quality finish.
• Ensure all paint and refinishing work meets quality and workmanship standards.
• Use painting tools, spray guns, booths, and related equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area always.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
• Participate in team meetings, safety training, and technical assessments as required.
Skills
Required skills to be successful
• Hands-on experience in automotive paint preparation, priming, painting, polishing, and refinishing.
• Good understanding of paint manufacturer instructions, materials, and application methods.
• Ability to use paint shop equipment such as spray guns, sanding tools, polishing machines, and paint booths.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on finish quality and durability.
About the team
You will be part of the Body Shop team, working closely with the Body Shop Supervisor and fellow technicians to deliver high-quality repair and refinishing services across multiple vehicle brands. The team is focused on maintaining dealer and manufacturer standards, delivering excellent workmanship, and ensuring every vehicle is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high customer standard.
What equips you for the role
• To be successful in this role, you should have 2–3 years of experience working in an automotive paint shop, ideally with hands-on exposure to car body painting and refinishing.
• A high school qualification is required, and formal technical training such as an ITI course in Automobile Engineering, with specialization in car body painting and refinishing, will be an advantage.
• You should also be comfortable working with tools and equipment used in modern paint shops and be open to continuous training, internal assessments, and certification development.
• Awareness of workplace safety practices and commitment to maintaining safe working standards.
• Ability to work efficiently, follow procedures, and support overall workshop productivity.
• Willingness to learn new techniques, technologies, and complete role-specific certifications.
