Key Responsibilities
- Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
- Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
- Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
- Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
- Technical supervision of project designated Offshore Structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duty.
- Preparation /checking of Specifications, data sheets.
- Performance of bid evaluation and vendor document review and approval.
- Review the production of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations and reports and follow required checking procedures.
- Implements innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence.
- Supports Lead Engineer in monitoring quality activities, drives and participates in squad checking, recommends improvements, and takes action where required.
- Assist Project Team in project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules
- Manage Offshore Structural design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
- Prepare and participate in weekly Offshore Structural meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
- Review and advice on layouts, site preparation, etc., during technical evaluation stage of bidder’s proposals to assess technical capability and ensure compliance with project specifications
- Execute verification, studies and detail design following best engineering practices and optimization in term of cost, construction simplicity, operability and maintainability, HSSE.
- Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc.
- Creates final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursues customer approval.
Quality Assurance:
- Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
Safety:
- Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
- Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.
Industry Specific Experience:
- Vast experience in detail design in conceptual studies, FEED and detailed design of substructure, deck and bridges.
- Must have experience in Oil and Gas Industry experience in green-field and brown-field projects.
- Must be available for offshore site surveys.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
- Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
- MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage.
IT Skills:
- StaadPro, Sap 2000, Etabs, Safe, Autocad and SACS
