Job Overview
A leading energy organisation is seeking a Procurement Specialist to monitor and expedite all procurement activities for major projects. This role ensures a cost-effective and timely procurement program in compliance with company policies while supporting project delivery objectives.
The successful candidate will coordinate with project teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to secure materials, manage vendors, and maintain procurement schedules for critical equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
Support alignment within project teams on procurement objectives, processes, and requirements
Assist Procurement Lead in developing and reviewing project procurement procedures, tools, and templates
Develop purchasing plans and secure necessary approvals for deviations, cost adjustments, change orders, or claims
Report on project procurement activities, including progress, issues, and mitigation measures
Implement expediting mechanisms to ensure timely delivery of all packages, equipment, and materials in line with project schedules
Coordinate with Spare Parts teams to plan, align, and procure project spares for on-time delivery
Support vendor evaluation and approval, including review of critical documentation and queries
Manage interfaces and relationships with internal business teams, including planning, cost control, contracts, and business management
Perform additional procurement tasks as delegated by the Procurement Lead
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business Management/Administration, or relevant commercial discipline
Experience and Skills
Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil and gas operations, with at least 5 years as a procurement specialist in major projects
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to monitor EPC contractor procurement activities and track key equipment and material purchases
Self-starter capable of working in a lean organisation
Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and business software programs
Excellent written and spoken English skills
