We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager with strong technical understanding of Hydrocarbon Passive Fire Protection (H‑PFP). In this role, you will lead business development activities across the EMEA region, with a primary focus on the Middle East. You will drive specification, project pipeline growth, and major project acquisition to strengthen Hempel’s position in targeted markets.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Technical, Product Management, and Key Account teams to ensure our H‑PFP solutions are competitively positioned and consistently specified by NOCs, EPCs, contractors, and applicators.
Here’s some of the other things you can look forward to:
Drive specification and approvals with key technical influencers
Ensure H‑PFP systems are included in customer approval frameworks
Manage and grow the project pipeline, ensuring strong conversion through sales engagement
Collaborate with regional and global sales teams to secure priority projects
Align with the Center of Excellence (Barcelona) and Sharjah factory on testing, production, and supply
Lead regional go‑to‑market plans, trials, and demonstrations
Ensure all engagements and pipeline activities are accurately managed in CRM
Track KPIs to measure Business Development impact and ensure achievement of annual revenue targets
Promote value‑based selling and consistent pipeline management practices
Support commercial excellence initiatives to increase visibility, early engagement, and win rates
Align with Global Key Account Management (GKAM) on major projects and shared accounts
Collaborate cross‑functionally to execute segment strategies for Energy and Infrastructure
Contribute to product launches, customer trials, and specification of new innovations
Support product management to optimize range complexity where needed
Ensure compliance with Hempel policies and operational KPIs.
This role will report into the Head of Business Development, Energy EMEA and will be based out of Qatar or within the GCC Region.
Furthermore, we expect that you have
Strong commercial mindset with proven BD experience in coatings, H‑PFP, or related technical industries
Ability to build strong relationships and influence technical and commercial stakeholders
Strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to prioritize high‑value opportunities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self‑driven and comfortable working independently/remotely
Ability to travel within the Middle East and wider EMEA
Experience with Thermal Insulation Coatings is an advantage
Relevant education is valued; however, experience, drive, and behavior are the key selection criteria
Fluency in English required; additional regional languages are an advantage
