- Optimize cluster resources, including shared storage (SAN/NAS) and network load balancing for video streaming and infrastructure services.
- Perform firmware and software updates for HCI nodes.
- Ensure high availability and rapid failover for mission-critical systems.
High-Availability Infrastructure Design
- Design and maintain failover clustering and Always On availability groups for SQL databases supporting CCTV video metadata and storage.
- Set up and test Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) for redundant CCTV and HCI server nodes.
- Conduct regular failover drills and recovery time objective (RTO) assessments.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans specific to surveillance and infrastructure systems.
Windows Server & Security Administration
- Administer Windows Server environments hosting CCTV and HCI applications, focusing on security hardening, performance tuning, and compliance.
- Deploy and manage Windows Server roles such as Hyper-V for virtualized environments and Active Directory for user access controls.
- Apply Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and security baselines, including encryption for video data at rest and in transit.
- Integrate CCTV and HCI systems with SIEM tools for logging and alerting on security events.
Cloud and Infrastructure Services Integration
- Integrate CCTV and HCI infrastructure with cloud platforms for hybrid storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Manage cloud-based resources (VMs, storage) related to surveillance and infrastructure services.
- Ensure compliance with cloud security and cost management policies.
- Support cloud migration and hybrid operations for video and infrastructure workloads.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to CCTV and HCI infrastructure.
- Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, local surveillance laws) and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to audit access logs and ensure video data handling meets legal requirements.
- Document incidents, root cause analyses, and remediation actions for post-event reviews.
RequirementsExperience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 2 years focused on surveillance or video systems and HCI.
- Proven track record in deploying and troubleshooting high-availability environments in enterprise settings.
- Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call rotations for critical system support.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (or equivalent).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (preferred for cloud-integrated CCTV solutions).
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification in cybersecurity fundamentals.
Required Skillset
- SQL Always On: In-depth familiarity with configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL Server Always On Availability Groups for database mirroring and failover in CCTV video management systems.
- Failover Clustering: Expertise in Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC), including quorum configuration, shared storage integration, and automated failover testing.
- Windows Server Operations: Advanced proficiency in Windows Server 2019/2022 administration, including Active Directory, PowerShell scripting, Hyper-V virtualization, and performance optimization for I/O-intensive workloads.
- Additional Skills: Knowledge of IP-based CCTV protocols (e.g., ONVIF, RTSP), network troubleshooting (VLANs, QoS for video traffic), and basic scripting in PowerShell or Python for system automation.
- Experience with HCI platforms (e.g., Nutanix, VMware vSAN, Microsoft Azure Stack HCI) is highly desirable.
