Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a leading technology solutions and services provider in Doha, Qatar. Our client is looking to hire a Network Technician who will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of passive network architecture.
Responsibilities:
Network Systems Delivery
- Execute expert installation, maintenance, and repair for UTP, FOC, multi-core, and LAN cabling solutions.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on existing cabling infrastructure to ensure ongoing optimal network performance.
- Skillfully operate a variety of tools, equipment, and materials required for network cabling installation and troubleshooting.
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections and generate detailed reports, including Bills of Quantities (BOQs), for new installations and maintenance projects.
- Maintain inventory of network components to ensure necessary materials and equipment are available for all installations and repairs.
- Design and deploy network cabling overlays for special events and large-scale functions.
- Collaborate with team members, ensuring clear communication regarding project status, milestones, and any encountered challenges.
- Prepare, update, and maintain accurate network drawings and patching matrices.
- Handle the mounting and patching of active devices, perform patch management, and provide remote support as needed.
Communication & Documentation
- Ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in creating, updating, and maintaining detailed technical documentation, site inspection reports, BOQs, and troubleshooting logs.
- Competence in managing inventory records and generating network performance reports, ensuring all activities are accurately documented.
- Work effectively within a team structure, fostering collaboration through clear communication of progress and obstacles.
Requirements- 8 years in IT Support with customer-facing responsibilities. 2-3 years must be in a directly comparable role with similar duties, preferably within a related industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, specializing in Computer Science or Electronics & Communication.
- Relevant professional IT certification (e.g., Certified Information Systems Auditor - CISA, or equivalent).
- Proven expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of UTP, FOC, multi-core, and LAN cabling systems.
- Experience in mounting and patching active devices onto passive network infrastructure.
- Skilled in using passive network tools and equipment (e.g., cable testers, crimpers, Fluke testers).
- Ability to design network cabling layouts and plans, including for event-specific scenarios.
- Competence in performing site inspections and delivering comprehensive reports with associated BOQs.
