  • The Engineering Services Department is the commercial arm of the Company forming a constant and key component within Company's decision-making process benefiting programmes, committees, and external stakeholders alike.



  • With the ethos of "relentlessly solving the seemingly unsolvable" the Department continually endeavours to appoint "Grade A" commercial professionals seeking a challenge.

  • The challenge currently available is for candidates to join our elite commercial team. The role differs from standard day-to-day commercial activities and focuses on actively developing, implementing, and improving Company's commercial practices along with championing complex issues affecting cost (both on and off-site).

  • Resolving problematic and complex commercial issues such as:

  • Measuring, assessing and valuing variations

  • Review and assessment of major claims

  • Quantum review and assessment of prolongation and disruption costs

  • Assessment of interim accounts

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution, Dispute Resolution & Litigation

  • Final settlement of claims and final accounts

  • Other duties shall include:

    • Play a key role in initiating and implementing commercial procedures, regulations and added value working practices

    • Review, updating and monitoring of project costs and adherence to Company's existing commercial procedures

    • Compilation, implementation and monitoring of Training and Development Plans

    • Ensuring construction contracts and professional services agreements are administered appropriately

    • Resolution of major issues resulting from the review of Contractor's Cost / progress reports





  • BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)

  • A post-graduate qualification in law or dispute resolution preferred but not essential

  • Chartered Membership of the RICS or equivalent (suitably experienced professionals may be considered)

  • Must have a minimum of 18 years post graduate experience

  • Worked in the capacity of Commercial Expert / Associate Director within a Professional Consultancy or Client organization (Contracting background may also be considered).

  • A proven track record of resolving major complex claims and disputes

  • Preferably, have minimum 6 years experience in the gulf region.

  • Experience in heavy civils and major building projects

  • knowledge and experience of procurement methods for consultancy and construction contracts

  • Well versed in International Conditions of Contract and law.

  • A comprehensive, well-rounded knowledge understanding of contract principles / administration

  • Experience in Expert Determination and Expert Witness

  • Good experience of construction technology and on-site activities

  • Highly motivated self-driven with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Analytical and detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to write complex reports in simplistic format



  • Salary:

    • Monthly Rate in QAR



  • Work Schedule:

    • 8 Hours / 5 Days





  • Duration:

    • 3 years with possible extension
