Head of IT Application

Manages and administers the Current and New Application landscape


Application Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of critical software applications.
  • Ensure applications are running efficiently and meet business requirements.
  • Plan and execute software updates, patches, and upgrades.


Team Leadership:

  • Manage a team of application support specialists and developers.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance on technical issues.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.


Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

  • Liaise with software vendors and service providers to ensure proper support.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize application enhancements.
  • Monitor and Budget preparation for Operational and new Initiatives in coordination with Finance.
  • Compliance with the KPI’s for yearly initiatives.
  • Research and proposition to enhance the Application Landscape.


Project Management:

  • Lead application-related projects, including new implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Develop project plans, set timelines, and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with other IT and business teams to ensure smooth project execution.


Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Resolve complex technical problems and ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Implement preventive measures and propose long-term solutions.


Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of application configurations, processes, and user manuals.
  • Provide regular reports on application performance, usage, and issues to senior management.


Training & Support:

  • Develop and conduct training sessions for end-users and support staff.
  • Offer technical support and ensure that users are adequately trained on the applications.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the IT field, including Five (5-7) years of the required experience in managing enterprise applications and staff of a small or medium-sized Software/Applications environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding and practical skills in managing the SDLC.
  • Strong experience in Oracle E-Business Suite, ERP, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Other Hyperscaler capabilities, Document Management System, CRM, Mobile Applications, Business Intelligence, AI/GenAI capabilities, and others.
  • Experience in business process improvements aligned to support IT implementations.
  • Experience in managing IT Business Applications in operations (preferred).


Professional Training:

  • Professional IT certification (e.g., PMP, Applications-based certifications, ORACLE Certified, Software Development Frameworks certification) (preferred).


Skills:

  • Knowledge of current trends in the specific field, including but not limited to Cloud capabilities, Microsoft Power Apps, AI/GenAI capabilities.
  • Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software, and equipment.
  • Good ability to work in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with a variety of employees and external individuals.
