Compliance Officer

To ensure that our operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal and internal rules we have a new job-opening for a Compliance Officer with a Legal background.

As a Compliance Officer you will become a member of the Group Legal Team (5). You will develop, implement, and maintain effective compliance programs and procedures to reduce legal and regulatory risks. You will also provide legal advice and support to management on compliance and non-compliance related matters. The role also involves monitoring of business activities, conducting absolute audits, providing compliance related training and guidance, and recommend necessary actions to maintain compliance. The role is based in the Head Office of QTerminals in Doha, Qatar, and reports to Group Legal & Compliance Director.

Main Job-responsibilities:

· Develop and Implement Compliance programs

· Conduct reporting & screening activities to assess compliance risk

· Monitor Compliance activities

· Investigate compliance incidents and matters

· Provide compliance related training and guidance

· Address concerns and advise on legal and compliance related matters

· Stay updated and keep abreast of international standards and regulatory changes

· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

To be successful in this role you will have:

· Minimum bachelor’s degree in law plus professional certification in Compliance

· 5-8 years of proven international experience as a Compliance Officer

· Familiarity with industry practices (port industry) and professional standards

· Experience and knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. Anti-Money)

· Team player with the ability to communicate and work with stakeholders at different levels.

· Service minded problem solver with a good ‘compliance feel’

· Excellent communication skills

· Business acumen and integrity and professional ethics

· Strong time management and organizational abilities

· Proficiency in English (must) and Arabic (preferred)
