Position Summary
The position is responsible for managing procurement and logistics process including but not limited to purchasing clearance, distribution, allocation, and delivery of internationally procured/delivered items including mailroom management and maintaining supplier relations.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads end-to-end administration of contracts and purchase orders, ensuring timely and satisfactory delivery of requirements.
- Works with end users to prepare required specifications for items or equipment and facilitates relationships between end users and suppliers.
- Manages bidding/sourcing process to ensure bids successfully adhere to procurement policies, procedures, professional standards, and user requirements. Analyzes responses and makes sure there are informed recommendations for award.
- Analyses the value of products based on research and market knowledge. Negotiates prices, contracts, availability, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Reviews purchasing patterns, recommend cost-saving opportunities and seeks new sources of supply in line with the divisional objectives.
- Executes spent analytics reports and provides recommendations that will assist in strategic procurement and vendor management.
- Maintains and develops positive business partnerships with suppliers to ensure continuous product flow, reduce lead times, and seek continuous improvement.
- Manages the logistics for the shipment and clearance of internationally procured items and tracks customers against targets, benchmarks, and service agreements.
- Manages and reviews the process for delivery tracking, ensuring export/import compliance is in order.
- Oversees mailroom activities, including delivery of incoming mail and preparing and sending outgoing mail.
- Monitors inventory, checks, and reorders items, including promotional store items and office supplies.
- Works closely with related stakeholders to ensure that procurement processes are followed and are in accordance with WCMQ and Cornell university policies and procedures.
- Works closely with budget team to assist with forecasting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration or supply chain with 7 – 8 years of relevant, progressive experience, including 2 years in procuring general and research lab supplies.
- Professional qualifications like CPP and CISP are preferred.
- Prior working experience in research, medical or educational environment is desirable.
