Job Description
Our Client in Qatar is looking for an Electrical Technician for a the Electrical Technician who is responsible for supervising and/or carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on board, related to low and medium voltage electrical systems, electrical motors, switchboards as well as automation systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the crew in the correct execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- carry out preventive and corrective maintenance not falling under on-board crew responsibility
- provide support to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for preventive and corrective maintenance, not falling under the on-board crew responsibility
- perform the activities necessary for the resolution of warranty claims and ensure the correct execution and resolution verify compliance with contractual and safety regulations
- perform harbour and sea trials of the equipmentas when deemed necessary by the company
- the technician may be asked to participate, on an occasional basis, in the transfer of the ship from one port to another (including outside Qatar).
- The candidate must be able to carry out minor electrical work, repairs, disassembling/assembling, failure analysis and troubleshooting, etc.
Skills
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree required;
- 8-10 years of experience in electrical maintenance;
- experience in the field of shipbuilding and maintenance on board (preferably military vessels) would be a plus
- Former on-board military (Navy) or merchant and cruise ships previous experience
- Fluency in English, Arabic not mandatory but could be a plus.
