Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
• Ensure tag-out and lock-out procedures are followed when working on electrically powered equipment.
• Ensure the use of all required of Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) while on duty.
• Isolates defects in wiring, connections, audio-visual equipment, and other AV systems using testing instruments.
• Regularly inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining all AV equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
• To minimize disruptions and unexpected breakdowns. Offend perform preventive maintenance task.
• Must be prepared to respond quickly to any AV issues.
• Maintain and ensure proper functioning of all audio-visual systems in all areas.
• Keep and maintain all audio-visual distribution panels and control systems.
• AV room - Inspection and upkeep of audio-visual equipment and associated systems. Ensure safety, reliability, and efficient functioning of all AV systems in the facility.
• Inspect, maintain, and test audio-visual equipment to ensure it functions correctly and delivers high-quality performance. Lubricate, clean, and replace components as needed.
• Inspect audio-visual equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
• Report any unusual findings or AV system safety hazards immediately to the Director or Assistant Director of Engineering.
• Ensuring that all AV equipment and installations comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
• Attending BEO (Banquet Event Order) meetings to understand AV requirements for upcoming events.
• Ensuring all AV setups and technical requirements are prepared and tested in advance.
• Setting up, operating, and maintaining audio, video, and lighting equipment to ensure optimal performance during events.
• Performing routine checks and maintenance on AV systems to prevent technical issues.
• Providing on-site technical support during events to resolve any AV-related issues promptly.
• Ensuring all equipment operates smoothly to prevent interruptions during functions.
• Ensure that all equipment, AV systems, MEP Systems, Kitchen Equipment, Movable Partitions, Motorized Rigging Points, in all events spaces (for example but not limited to Ballroom, Bridal Suite, VIP Lounge, Meeting Rooms, Pre-Function Areas, Outdoor events space, Training Rooms, Lounges...etc ) are operationally in a perfect working condition.. By Doing routine checks, Monitoring, and Following up PPMs and corrective work orders and Reporting any defects immediately and follow up till being repaired.
• Collaborating with event planners, banquet teams, and other departments to coordinate AV setups and ensure timely execution.
• Follow up, Coordinate the Daily, Weekly and Monthly Banquet Events Schedule with the Sales Team and share it with all concerned.
• Maintain a minimum stock of AV setup operating supplies for example but not limited to : connection cables, power extensions, cable channels, masking tapes...
• Guide and assist any third-party contractor for any event setup and ensure that all safety precautions are in place.
• Providing training to hotel associate on basic AV operations and troubleshooting techniques.
• Check with duty engineer/supervisor for the priority job. Check the logbook for follow up jobs.
• If the maintenance takes longer time to complete, immediately communicate with the Supervisor and Duty Engineer.
• Ensure close the maintenance request in communication devise after completing the job.
• Respond promptly to Know cross service orders made from made for requests, assistance, or emergency work orders.
• Always keep premises clean and tidy after completing the job.
• Communicate with Duty engineer/supervisor of daily work progress before ending the shift.
• Ensure log down into the logbook before ending the shift.
• Follow all the Departmental procedures and instructions.
• Follow hotel policy and procedure while entering guest rooms for repairs.
• Always maintain safety procedures/conditions in working area and other associated areas.
• Understand and practice hotel emergency fire precaution procedures.
• Ensure team work to achieve the engineering departmental goals.
• All AV rooms, workshop areas, and equipment are clean and in good working condition
• Report all incidents and work-related injuries concern department and DOE.
• Attending all training arranged by Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager such as safety training, safety Induction, on the job training, toolbox talks, etc.
• Monitor Knowcross application and respond promptly to any escalated requests made for problems, assistance, or emergency work orders.

To continuously look for conditions which may endanger associates or guests of the hotel and to take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found.

• The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory.
• Report any defects in the building, plant, or equipment according to hotel procedure.
• Ensure that any accidents to associates, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures.
• Attend Statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning Fire, Health & Safety.
