OBJECTIVE
This role is individually contributing assigned work by presenting a positive first impression of the establishment's friendliness, excellent service and high standards. The Host is meeting and greeting customers upon arrival, informs of their wait time, monitors a waiting list, enters guest names in the computer system, shows their table and making sure that tables are cleaned after use for a quick turnaround time by thanking customers upon departure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deals with all customer in a tactful, polite and friendly manner
- Opens whenever possible the front door for customers entering or leaving the Restaurant/ outlet
- Welcomes customers by greeting with enthusiasm while leading them to the record reservations, with patience at all times
- Thanks guests as they leave and invites them to return
- Keeps the working area/ restaurant tidy and clean, this includes hovering and mopping, perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning glasses, ensures restrooms are clean, stocked and orderly.
- Assists customer's need, refilling beverages, billing out and doing multi task when necessary like answering phone calls and fills to go orders.
- Provides senior management with feedback about arising customer complaints, encountered service issues
- Visits customers table when necessary to ensure the needs are attended
- Ensures full adherence to internal SOP, Hygiene and Food safety standards
- Answers calls for reservations, cancellations or general inquiries
- Reports on duty on time in correct uniform/ grooming standards
- Understands and memorizes seating chart
- Advises senior management on table turnaround to increase overall operational efficiency
- Trains new employees in the same job line in other outlets/ brands if necessary
Skills
- Higher secondary education essential or
- Equivalent vocational qualification obtained working for a 4/5 star hotel or fine dining restaurant
- Must have minimum of 1 year working experience in similar capacity
- Excellent command of English, Arabic desirable
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, confidence and customer service skills
