The Design and Application Engineer plays a pivotal role in the mechanical engineering sector, focusing on the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions tailored to meet client needs. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills to deliver innovative designs that enhance product functionality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into design specifications.
  2. Develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
  3. Provide in-depth technical support to the sales team and customers by identifying HVAC application requirements, recommending suitable products, and ensuring design specifications meet the customers' needs. 
  4. Provide initial quotation and create the appropriate BOM for the products.
  5. Provide technical support during the manufacturing process to ensure design integrity.
  6. Prepare and present project proposals and design reviews to stakeholders.
  7. Analyze project specifications and design HVAC systems accordingly, selecting appropriate components (AHU, FCU, Package units, Condensing units) to optimize performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  8. Collaborate with product design teams to customize HVAC solutions based on specific client requirements and industry standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
  9. Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documents, including project specifications, design calculations, product drawings, and installation instructions.
  10. . Prepare quotations for the projects which are in the tendering stage by selecting the correct products.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in design engineering, preferably in the mechanical sector.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  6. Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
  7. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision.
  8. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  9. Strong project management skills.
  10. . Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Skills

  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, CREO, and CCSI), load calculation tools, and MS Office Suite. Knowledge of ASHRA, AHRI standards and other relevant codes and regulations is essential. Excel proficient. 
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and HVAC manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with simulation software for testing and validation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations in mechanical engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
