Job Purpose:
The Security Systems Operator is responsible for the security systems, in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings while assuring the deployment of Best-Practice guidelines and in compliance with the applicable policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Install, service, and trouble-shoot fire alarm systems along with all its related equipment.
- Monitor multiple CCTV screens and alarm systems simultaneously.
- Identify, investigate, and report security breaches or suspicious activities.
- Regularly inspect and perform maintenance checks on the surveillance equipment.
- Record and store all the footage captured by the cameras.
- Communicate with law enforcement, security personnel, or building managers when needed.
- Comply with data protection laws regarding the use and storage of CCTV footage.
- Train other staff on the operation of the CCTV system if required.
- Write daily logs and incident reports.
- Be a leader: oversee, direct, and delegate appropriate tasks to fulfil project completion deadlines, meet scheduling requirements, and exceed the goals established by the fire alarm service superintendent.
- Ensure project results are achieved within financial and productivity budgets.
- Accurately complete, execute and process paperwork/electronic or paperless required by the office and corporate management systems.
- Ensure that all equipment; including any specialty valves and fire pumps are installed in strict compliance with manufacture’s requirements.
- Conduct/coordinate necessary testing of the system Ensure required certifications are complete.
- Instruct and train Helpers, apprentices, or other personnel in the basic process of service, repair and/or system installation.
- Coordinate the daily work schedules and direct the daily tasks/productivity of assigned employees.
- Comply with the company QHSSE approved policy.
Skills
- Minimum Secondary School Certification or equivalent is preferred
- 2-3 years of relevant experience preferably in a related industry.
- Auto CAD
- Knowledge of security systems and operations
- Familiarity with public safety and security procedures/protocols
