Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable to provide technical services in the areas of Health and Safety during definition, detailed design, and execution stages to ensure contractor(s) compliance with established HSE policies, guidelines, procedures, standards, and regulations.
- Support and maintain strong safety culture in line with the vision, strategy, and values.
- Identify and implement risk reduction measures based on hazard identification and risk assessment studies in all areas and phases of construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning. Work closely with the risk assessment specialist and other parties.
- Participate in checking and reviewing method statements, JSA’s, safety certifications, and other related documents submitted by contractors/project consultants. Report any non[1]compliance, lapses or issues to the immediate Supervisor.
- Monitors site HSE programs and safe work practices, and review and evaluate data/ information/ systems as required. Carry out duties and responsibilities for all areas of work covered in HSE aspects of EPIC Projects
Skills
- Qualification:Higher National Degree (HND), or University Degree (Preferably in an Engineering discipline) or an Accredited HSE Professional Certificate Associate membership of a recognized safety institution is desirable.
- Experience:Minimum 10 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, preferably in the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Industry, and specifically construction projects (including greenfield and brownfield work).
- Conversant with international standards in Environmental Management System.
- Trained in any of the following Incident Investigation Software: TapRoot, SafetyCulture, EasyRCA, Tripod Beta, etc.
- Competent in the use of PC including MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and any other relevant software.
- Experience in the GCC is desirable.:
