Key responsibilities and main tasks:
• Ensuring execution of work is technically aligned and in compliance with Qatargas Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct and Qatargas Project Management System (QGPMS).
• Leading Instrumentation & ICSS engineering design and planning activities, for Packages, and ensuring FEED contractor develops detailed design in accordance with local regulatory requirements, industry standards, project specifications and any approved variations.
• Resolve Instrumentation & ICSS discipline issues to ensure engineering design addresses NFW Project's expectations and objectives. Communicating and elevating issues before they escalate to Project Management when necessary.
• Reviewing technical aspects of Instrumentation & ICSS Packages purchase orders with FEED Contractor and vendors in accordance with the roles and responsibilities stated in applicable contract(s), to ensure safe and seamless integration of new Instrumentation & ICSS equipment into the existing operating facilities (when applicable).
• Assessing plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of project activities and providing data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays.
• Developing, updating and amending design / project philosophies, specifications and procedures, ensuring that all references to Instrumentation & ICSS Engineering are current and relevant.
• Monitoring and providing guidance to FEED Contractor to ensure key deliverables, progress/milestones are met. Recommending additional technical support where necessary to address gaps.
• Coordinating and analysing issues for resolution. Providing Instrumentation & ICSS Engineering input to other engineering disciplines, construction, procurement etc, as necessary. Supporting commissioning, start-up and system completing activities and making appropriate recommendations to management on Instrumentation & ICSS matters.
• Planning and scheduling Package Instrumentation & ICSS Engineering deliverables to enable efficient execution in meeting project milestones/schedule.
• Contributing to Safety analysis studies and providing the required input to support project management in key decision-making. Participating in sharing lessons learned, together with capturing current lessons learned to benefit future projects.
Skills
The experience shall include:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & ICSS Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in Instrumentation & ICSS Engineering, preferably in a major LNG Project. Broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore LNG facilities and utility systems design, construction and operations.
• Demonstrated broad static instrumentation & ICSS equipment and systems experience.
• Proficient in English language.
