Job Purpose
The job holder will represent and manage the Qatar Airways relationship with the DGCA of India. The job holder will be responsible for all flight(s) related interactions, filings and communications with the office of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for filling schedules (passenger/cargo/overflying and to/from India traffic)
- Responsible for ad-hoc approvals (aircraft and route changes for both pax & cargo)
- Flight slot clearance management.
- Charters/cargo flights landing, aircraft registration and other relevant approvals required for operation within Indian airspace
- Obtain approvals for flights to offline stations within India and new/additional stations for QR operation
- Manage and maintain a positive and professional relationships with senior decision makers and executives of various departments related to the DGCA India.
- Represent Qatar Airways Network Operations, Schedule Planning, Navigation Services and Cargo teams as the authorized local DGCA signatory in New Delhi to support Indian operations.
- Manage Schedule Planning Passengers/Cargo with Seasonal schedule Winter/Summer filing including Manual Submission of Annexures.
- Manage Schedule Planning with the manual submission of regulatory documentations during changes in seasonal operations, ensuring that all the required regulatory approvals are in place.
- Manage all online filing requirements through the DGCA portal ensuring all regulatory approvals are in place prior to flight operations.
- For non-scheduled or ad hoc operations, submit the required over-flying (OVF) applications to DGCA to support unplanned requests.
- Responsible for OVF and Landing Approvals with DGCA for QR seasonal schedules and ad hoc flights to ensure disruption-free operations.
- Obtain the ‘YA’ number from ATC-Signal Center following the granting of approval.
- Represent QR operations as the focal point for DGCA to resolve any anomalies or potential issues in pending applications on DGCA portal which might impact operational plans.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
- Managing Relationships with DGCA communication, Ministry of Civil Aviation, AAI and all Airports across India
- Coordinating with Head Office stakeholder (Aeropolitical, Regulatory Affair, Scheduling, Overflying & IOC, Security Team in India and Airport Managers in India
Qualifications- Bachelors Degree
- 6 years of job related experience
- Individual should be familiar with the Aviation industry, having previously worked for an International Airline either in their Network planning or Aero political dept.
- Individual should have working knowledge of Bilateral / traffic right application / approval processes.
- Individual should be familiar with Navigation process of landing and overflying traffic rights and have some past experience of working with local / country DGCA authorities.
