Networking Engineer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining networking systems.
- Proficiency in networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs,
- VPNs, and routing protocols.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in networking engineering roles, designing
- large networks and implementing major changes in critical environments.
- Hands-on experience with networking equipment and tools, such as routers,
- switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Familiarity with industry standards, best practices in network design &
- implementation, and have at minimum valid Cisco CCNP certificate, Fortinet NSE
- 7 LAN Edge, Enterprise Firewall, certifications.
- Experience working in industrial or plant environments is an advantage.

Purpose of Job:
- Manage networking systems and projects within Dukhan and Mesaieed
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of networking
infrastructure to support operational requirements effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and implement networking systems, including LAN, WAN, and
- wireless networks.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the
- successful deployment and integration of networking solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assess technical requirements for networking
- projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
- Supervise the installation, configuration, and testing of networking equipment
- and systems, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network infrastructure, minimizing
- downtime and disruptions to operations.
- Monitor network performance and capacity, implementing measures to optimize
- network efficiency and reliability.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians on
- networking-related matters.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the networking industry,
- recommending innovations and enhancements to improve system performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of network designs,
- configurations, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address networking
- requirements for new projects and expansions.
- Network Design and Planning
Strategic Planning: Design and plan network infrastructure to align with business needs and
growth projections.
Hardware and Software Selection: Choose suitable hardware, software, and protocols,
considering scalability and future expansion.
- Implementation and Configuration
Hardware Installation: Install and configure network hardware, such as routers, switches,
firewalls, and other devices
Software Deployment: Deploy and integrate network software, ensuring security measures are
in place.
Network Connectivity: Establish and manage connectivity among devices, servers, and systems.
Troubleshooting: Swiftly troubleshoot and resolve any connectivity issues that arise.
Performance Monitoring: Keep a close eye on network performance, identifying areas for
enhancement.
Tuning and Optimization: Fine-tune network settings to facilitate efficient data transmission and implement QoS mechanisms.
Security Measures: Design and implement security measures, such as firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems.
Security Audits: Regularly update and patch security components, conducting audits and
assessments.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving
Issue Diagnosis: Diagnose and resolve network issues, responding promptly to incidents to
minimize downtime.
Effective Troubleshooting: Employ effective troubleshooting methods to identify and address
problems.
Network Capacity: Assess network capacity and plan for future expansion.
Infrastructure Upgrades: Upgrade infrastructure to accommodate increased data traffic and
emerging technologies.
- Documentation and Reporting
Network Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of network configurations,
changes, and topology.
Network Diagrams: Develop network diagrams and documentation for troubleshooting and
reference.
- Collaboration and Communication
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with IT professionals, departments, and external vendors.
Communication: Work closely with system administrators, security teams, and application
developers for a cohesive IT environment.
- Training and Knowledge Transfer
End-User Training: Provide end-user training on network tools and protocols.
Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated with industry trends and certifications, and share knowledge within the team.
Disaster Recovery Plans: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for network
infrastructure.
