Installation Engineering Manager

Overview

The Installation Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating engineering activities related to installation processes within an engineering company. This position involves managing resources, optimizing technical processes, ensuring adherence to project budgets and schedules, and mitigating technical risks. The Installation Engineering Manager is also responsible for fostering collaboration with subcontractors and continuously improving work methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a closed network with equivalent entities of other engineering companies to exchange best practices and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions for installation disciplines or processes to ensure consistency and quality in engineering deliverables.
  • Promote the optimization of technical and work processes, adopting performance indicators to measure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Update design methodologies, criteria, standards, and software tools to ensure high standards in design activities.
  • Optimize resource allocation and tools across departments to maximize productivity and project outcomes.
  • Validate man-hours and schedules for installation disciplines, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines.
  • Address technical variations and risks during project execution, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Establish and manage a network of potential engineering subcontractors for installation disciplines to manage workload peaks effectively.
  • Organize and lead review meetings for the installation engineering team to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Manage the selection, individual development plans, and training programs for team members to enhance skills and capabilities.
  • Capitalize on project experiences to improve and harmonize work methodologies through continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of best practices.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred


Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills

  • Professional certifications in relevant engineering disciplines preferred
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite


Years Of Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in engineering management roles, preferably in installation engineering within the oil and gas industry


Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of installation engineering processes, including design, optimization, and risk management
  • Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing complex projects
