Job purpose:
The Business Development Director will be responsible for spearheading telecom portfolio initiatives, identifying and executing strategic telecom investments, and leading mergers and acquisitions and partnership activities. This role demands a deep understanding of the telecom industry, strong strategic vision, and the ability to negotiate and close high-value transactions. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully executing complex telecom deals, driving value growth for a portfolio of telecom assets, and providing strategic leadership.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a strategic business development and M&A plan for the telecom sector.
Identify and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth opportunities within the telecom industry.
Formulate and implement strategies to capitalize on industry trends and drive value creation in the telecom portfolio..
Deal Origination and Execution:
Lead the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of M&A opportunities, including acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic alliances.
Manage the end-to-end deal process, including negotiation, due diligence, financial modeling, and transaction structuring.
Oversee integration efforts post-acquisition to ensure seamless transitions and realization of synergies.
Market and Industry Analysis:
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for investment.
Assess the strategic fit and value proposition of potential targets and partnerships.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and nurture relationships with key industry stakeholders, including telecom operators, technology providers, and investment advisors.
Collaborate with senior management, board members, and external advisors to align on strategic goals and execution plans.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and present comprehensive reports and recommendations to senior leadership and investment committees.
Ensure transparent communication of deal progress, market insights, and performance metrics
Educational Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Experience :
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in business development, M&A, or strategic roles within the telecom sector. Proven track record of originating, leading and closing complex transactions. Experiences of working in the GCC and Central Asia are preferred.
Knowledge and Skills :
Proven track record of originating, leading and closing complex value accretive transactions and partnerships in the telecom sector.
Deep understanding of the telecom sector, including market dynamics, technologies, regulatory environment, and emerging trends.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and performance metrics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely to senior management and stakeholders.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Fluent English; good knowledge of Russian is preferred.
