Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible to empower ABB Process Automation business Area with leading data expertise assignments of medium and high complexity, contribution of technical expertise solutions and services.
The work model for this role (onsite)
This role is contributing to Process Automation Business Area based in Doha, Qatar.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Evaluating, selecting, and applicating standard ABB solutions, procedures, and criteria to perform and deliver projects/solutions with complex features.
Driving solution/product quality Issue process, taking ownership in resolution of reported issues.
Implementation and tracking agreed global efficiency KPIs for own function, ensuring visibility of continuous improvements.
Representation the organizing at standardization committees and maintaining liaison with related individuals and organizations
Determination offered solutions and product versions, including extent of standard and non-standard solution scope to meet high complexity customer requirements. Supporting technical reviews and participate in core technical meetings.
Provision technical leadership and solutions during execution, including participation in important customer meetings.
Building network internally and externally for exchange of information, best practices and lessons learned.
Provision support and technical advice to colleagues.
Reviewing and may document quality standards, processes, tools, and techniques.
Ensuring that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
Contributing towards continuous improvements of processes and tools for engineering efficiency.
Creating and executing strategies for risk and opportunity management in one’s area of responsibility.
Proposing and initiating actions to mitigate and control risks.
Proactively coordinating with Manufacturing and Testing functions to ensure the technical solutions are appropriately manufactured/staged and tested.
Ensuring the engineering deliverables As built are updated.
Proactively coordinating with Commissioning / Service functions to ensure the designs are appropriately installed and commissioned (if applicable as part of the contract).
Ensuring the engineering deliverables are updated post installation & commissioning (if applicable).
Qualifications For The Role
- Graduate Engineer in Electrical/ Electronics / instrumentation Engineering
- 13-15 years of experience in Control & Instrumentation field with at least 8 years of experience in FSMS preferably in chemical Oil and Gas industry
- TUV certified FS Expert, FS Engineer with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in Functional safety management systems ( FSMS) and implementation through project and services
- Be an analytical thinker, self-starter, resilient and highly adaptable- in line with ABB’s latest advance service.
- Proficiency and hand own experience in ABB safety systems – like AC800M HI .
