Primary Purpose Of Job

Accountable to designs, develops, and implements state-of-the-art telecommunications technology architectures and

solutions for optimal availability, resiliency, and scalability of telecommunication infrastructure to integrate and deliver

telecommunication applications and services across the corporation..

Experience & Skills

Enhancement of QatarEnergy telecommunication Systems by application of advanced telecommunication technology

solutions based on industry standards, and best practices

for delivery of resilient and stable state-of-the-art telecommunications services.

  • Implement established corporate telecommunication system architectures to deliver voice and data services and

emerging new applications by enhancement and update of suitable telecommunication infrastructure to enhance and

increase QatarEnergy business productivity and experience under senior staff supervision.

  • Prepare, review and provide technical feedback on assigned technical documentation related to telecommunication

services by assessment and alignment of defined project plan, specification, or statement of work with division vision and

plans for development and implementation of ICT services to ensure and maintain a QatarEnergy wide homogeneous

telecommunication architecture.

  • Forecast, plan and prepare telecommunication infrastructure and purchase requisitions by conducting meticulous review

of assigned active related projects to ensure efficient, cost effective, and on-schedule implementation of projects and

delivery of related

telecommunication services.

  • Interact, collaborate with peers, new staff on development programs and technicians by publishing technical

documentation, hosting regular training or knowledge transfer

sessions to update, and improve section staff technical knowledge and expertise aligned with section goals to meet and

maintain division targeted goals and vision in delivery of

telecommunication services.

  • Secure ICT telecommunication infrastructure assets and records by application of established division controls and

guidelines to preserve section infrastructure

investments and ensure to maintain a safe, highly available 24x7 telecommunication network environment for business and

critical industrial grade services.

  • Monitor, and apply division processes in support of operation, escalation, and resolution

of assigned related incidents reported by Service Helpdesk, and Network Operations

Centre by leveraging sophisticated tools and applications to resolve incidents in a timely

manner and ensure a robust and non-disruptive delivery of telecommunication services.

  • Enhancement and development of structured copper and fiber cabling plants standards

and techniques to enable delivery and distribution of telecommunication services.

  • Accountable to logistically and technically coordinates and works with ICT divisions/units,

corporate project managers, and external entities to deliver services and meet projected milestones in addition to an

integral role in operation, management and support of related systems.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor degree in Network Engineering, Computer Engineering,

Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent Engineering field.

# 7 to 10+ years of progressive combined technical experience in Telecommunication

Systems, related standards, and protocols with a minimum of 4 to 7+ years professional

hands-on experience in design, operation and support of complex telecommunication

systems preferably related to the Oil and Gas industry and standards.

# Expert level of technical hands-on experience in implementation and operation of

systems related to following technologies: SDH/PDH, DWDM, Microwave, Fibre Optics

cables monitoring, CCTV, PAGA, ACS, Radios and NMS (Network Management

System).

# Excellent writing skills with the ability to write technical blueprints, high and low level

design documents, standards, processes, procedures, manuals, feasibility studies, and

tendering proposals.

# Advanced Project management skills including setting up objectives, compiling reports,

identifying priorities, Analytical thoughts, and selecting right team members.

# Technical knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure core technologies and

designs, experience with telecommunication infrastructure hardware installations and

configurations, knowledge of IP convergence systems and services, PTT-grade

telecommunication systems, services implementation and services, emerging

infrastructure services, and general industrial-grade telecommunication technologies

and systems.

# Strong personal computer office applications, verbal and communications skills.

# Ability to supervise and work closely and effectively with other engineers and focal

points from various departments across organization.
