Job Summary
- The Senior Logistics Officer coordinates the implementation of logistical functions in order to support the requirements of the organization. The role directs the shipment clearance and ensures effective and efficient monitoring/tracking of all inbound and outbound shipment at all times and optimizing supply chain operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery, and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the organization.
Job Responsibilities 1
- Manage logistics operations including all logistics assets in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery across the organization.
- Negotiate prices with logistic companies/shipping companies and freight forwarders to ensure availing the best market rate.
- Responsible for arranging shipment arrangements for inbound and outbound.
- Handle shipment clearances.
- Develop reports on products/materials movements and various operational logistics issues. Updates stakeholders (internal/external) on the status of their shipments in transit.
- Develop logistics along with support plans, budget requirements and organization timelines for new operations. Create operational procedures and method statements.
- Develop reports on material/products and personnel movements and various operational logistics problems.
- Develop and design standard operating methods to manage logistics operations efficiently.
- Comply with all applicable Company directives, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor the material movement to and from the workface does not cause damage to the works, the workforce or the public.
- Ensure customers receives their products in a timely manner and good condition.
- Communicate effectively with clients and responding to their requirements.
- Coordinate and present logistics support to ongoing operations.
- Ensure to identify added logistic training requirements to attain high working standards.
Skills
Job Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of Import documentation and export documentation.
Knowledge of logistics (inbound/outbound) Operations.
Good communication skills, with experience of communicating cross-culturally.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and other related software.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 5 year(s) working experience, 3 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
