As a Senior Manager Revenue Management Market Operations, you will be responsible for the management of revenue optimization functions of an assigned region for QR Group. Includes oversight for the strategic direction and planning of Revenue Management pricing and inventory actions as well as Flight Management and quality assurance through the Team. Works with the RM Management Team to provide leadership and develop solutions to enhance revenue delivery and meet revenue objectives and KPls including RASK.

Other key responsibilities are:

  • Formulate strategy to deliver the assigned region's budget and to maximise revenue across the network. Liaise with other regions to ensure pricing strategies are formulated using analytical methodologies and communicate consistently and clearly to all stakeholders. Review and update regional group policies. Ensure revenue management strategies are planned, implemented, monitored and adjusted at appropriate times in the booking cycle to drive improved unit revenue performance.
  • Evaluate advance booking, forecast alerts, competitor threats and the political, economic or regulatory environment in the assigned region do understand the impact on demand and develop strategies to meet the regional passenger and revenue targets
  • Devise and implement strategies that lead to profitability in relation to yield and volume based on point of sale, O&D flow, compartment mix as well as route level needs.
  • Provide strategic and tactical business solutions for development embracing advanced automation techniques that bring new levels of quality assurance to Revenue Management processes.
  • Lead a team of managers and analysts ongoing activities to achieve the assigned region's budget through a combination of Pricing, Demand, Flight level and Specialist decisions. Direct managers and analysts to conduct retrospective assessments of seasonal performance to guide future plans.
  • Deliver and execute the revenue delivery operating plans for assigned region, steering the teams contribution to weekly business cycle meetings to agree the ongoing direction of tactics. Utilize available decision support tools as well as reporting to understand market conditions and the competitive environment to inform decisions to manage the delivery of revenue.
  • Work closely with Sales and MPA teams to align regional plans and negotiate appropriate strategies by point of sale and traffic flows.
  • Ensure performance measurement of functions and processes related to forecasting, network revenue performance, route profitability, flight management, system usage, and productivity and motivate the team towards swift actions. Evaluate performance and report to middle management and C-Level management concise summaries of performance and actions.
  • Monitor and react to booking volume and yield data, forecast alerts, competitor threats, political/economic/legal aspects that affect pricing and develop strategies to ensure that network passenger and revenue targets are achieved.
  • Ensure managers develop fact-based analysis and insight by offering ongoing guidance to assist in the evaluation of commercial strategic initiatives for short and long term planning needs.

Qualifications

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Revenue Management Team.

  • Minimum qualification of bachelor’s degree or equivalent is essential.
  • 10+ years of job-related experience
  • Airline commercial management training in more than one area including IATA/ Industry/ Government Affairs, Marketing, Sales, Planning, Budgeting, Field Sales Management and Leadership is essential.
  • Advanced understanding of the airline economics, economics in general as well as sales and distribution (including systems).
  • Intermediate to Advanced understanding of statistics, operations research, forecasting and optimization methods
  • Advanced understanding of related parts of the airline business process. This includes Network Planning and Scheduling, e-commerce, Marketing and Sales.
