The Dealer – Money Markets will assist the Senior Dealer in ensuring efficient operations of the Money Markets section, in line with the internal policies and regulatory guidelines. The incumbent will assist in providing Money Markets solutions to customers within the approved limits and will ensure prompt execution of MM transactions and deals. The job holder will provide necessary support in maintaining availability of funds to settle customer/internal obligations at any point in time by holding adequate cash and liquid assets and fund placement/borrowing at the best available/agreed rates and manage excess/deficit liquidity situations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Research on, gather/collate and provide information on various money market instruments and the financial market via various financial service providers (Bloomberg, Reuters).
• Assist the Senior Dealer – Money Markets in preparing proposals for entering trading and investment decisions, in line with the Qatar Central Bank guidelines and internal bank policies.
• Assist in analysing and reporting on financial market information such as regulator behavior in various monetary policy decisions for liquidity profiling of the major currencies involved in balance sheet of the bank.
• Assist the Senior Dealer in preparation of quotes with best interest rates for various clients in line with their asset and liability requirements.
• Assist the Senior Dealer in generating reports with respect to feasibility of proposed trades in terms of cost incurring vs. profit generation.
• Provide necessary support to the Senior Dealer in dealing in Islamic banking transactions in money market such as commodity murabaha trading for trades with Islamic banks in the region and outside the region.
• Provide necessary support in preparing quotations for various financial market products for new business opportunities across different markets where the overseas branches and rep offices operate.
• Provide necessary support to the Senior Dealer with respect to internal reviews in the area of Risk management, financial ratios, accounting entry verifications, cash flow management and P/L record checking with finance risk management, Treasury settlements, Finance, Financial reporting to regulators unit etc.
• Assist the Senior Dealer in obtaining and collating necessary data from the internal stakeholders, including but not limited to, Branches, Rep offices, Finance, Treasury settlements for periodical MIS reporting.

Qualification, Experience & Skills Required

• University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance or Economics or any other related discipline
• 06-10 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.
• Experience in Money market activities is a must
• Understand the key approaches to investment allocation for MM portfolio including asset class, geographical area, currency etc.
• Understand the main aims and investment characteristics of MM portfolio management strategies
• Knowledge of portfolio construction based upon proprietary or customer needs
• Knowledge of the financial markets and be able to read moves of the central banks
• Knowledge of product’s risks and corresponding controls
• Ability to respond to client requests by communicating with interbank desk in delivering basic banking services to Customers
