Job Purpose:
The IPAF Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training to internal and external stakeholders either at Rapid Access or at client sites.
Their core function will be to identify safety and machinery operating training needs and enhance the knowledge and awareness at all levels within Rapid Access and client organisations.
As a member of the Rapid Access External Training team, the IPAF Trainer will deliver recognised qualifications under our centre status with IPAF, and any third party certification bodies represented by Rapid Access.
The IPAF Trainer will also be responsible for building partnerships with international associations and organisations that will add value to the department and overall profitability of Rapid Access.
Continus professional development will also be expected to be undertaken by the role holder to develop their capability to deliver a wider range of qualifications and allow a return on investment for the company.
The role will require some travel throughout the GCC region.
- Conduct training needs analysis for employees, customers and third party contractors
- Develop, implement and conduct appropriate training programs to support identified needs
- Assist in the development of appropriate mandatory HSE and machiner operator training matrixes
- Maintain a documented inventory of HSE and machine operator training including specifications, requirements and curriculum
- Identify, implement and maintain appropriate training facilities, materials, and resources to support HSE training needs. Plan and submit budgets for appropriate spending
- Ensure that an accurate database of training is maintained against all employees, customers and contractors
- Teach a range of HSE related courses to Rapid Access internal staff and external clients such as:
- IPAF – Operator / Demonstrator / Harness
- IPAF - MEWPs for Manager
- Velosi – MEWP Operator familiarisation
- Rapid Work at Height courses
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of HSE and machine operator training and develop appropriate training solutions or changes to ensure a high level of quality and competency
- Submit regular reports to the QHSE / Training Manager on the status of the training program. Analyse trends and make recommendations for improvement
- Take on additional duties with continued professional development
- Participate in incident investigations and also involvement in running safety campaigns
- Responsible for understanding and practicing appropriate safety procedures as follows:

- Participate in the safety training programme to educate yourself on hazards, safety practices, and rules
- Communicate about unsafe practices and conditions

Skills
The chosen candidate will meet ALL the essential criteria below:
ESSENTIAL

- Strong track record in the work at height / lifting equipment background with prior knowledge of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms
- Experience in delivering IPAF courses include IPAF Operator / Demonstrator, IPAF Harness and IPAF Instructor
- Successful track record in developing and delivering HSE and machinery related training
- Recognised technical certification in Safety Management Systems
