Category Executive

  • Category Executive will play a vital role in assisting the Category Supervisor / Category Manager in managing product categories within the company. Your responsibilities include data analysis, market research, inventory management, and assisting in the development and execution of category strategies to optimize sales and profitability.


Data Analysis:

·      Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer preferences to identify opportunities and challenges within the category.

·      Use data-driven insights to make recommendations for product assortment and pricing strategies.


Category Strategy Support:

·      Assist the Category Supervisor / Manager in developing and implementing category strategies that align with business goals.

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute category plans effectively.


Inventory Management:

·      Monitor stock levels and product availability within the category.

·      Work with inventory teams to ensure optimal inventory turnover and minimize out-of-stock situations.


Competitive Analysis:

·      Conduct research on competitors' products, pricing, and promotional activities within the category.

·      Use competitive intelligence to recommend pricing and promotional strategies.


Promotions and Merchandising:

·      Assist in planning and executing promotional activities and merchandising strategies within the category.

·      Collaborate with marketing and merchandising teams to create effective in-store displays and promotions.


Product Assortment:

·      Make recommendations for adding or discontinuing products based on sales data, market trends and Profitability


Vendor Relationships:

·      Maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers in the category.

·      Complete all the required formalities to register a new supplier and provide the required documents to the supplier to complete the registration.


Sales Analysis and Reporting:

·      Prepare regular sales reports and performance analyses for the category.

·      Provide insights and recommendations for improving category performance.


Customer Feedback:

·      Gather and analyze customer feedback related to the category.

·      Identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience and meet customer demands.

·      Regularly give feedback to reporting manager on competition, loss of orders due to high prices etc.


Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus).
  • Proven experience in category management, data analysis, or related roles within the FMCG industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrate intention or proven experience of 1 -3 years in a category or related industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong Time-management, prioritization and organizational skills.
