• Define, refine, test, and implement strategic business development plans. These activities include overseeing primary research, industry, market, and competitive analysis, customer needs assessment.
• Share responsibility in the development of the overall marketing strategy and budget for QPM in conjunction with the Marketing & Communications Director.
• Responsible for key account management with the Government and private agencies.
• Oversee Conduct of extensive market research, statistical and trend analysis based on primary and secondary market information on potential sales opportunities and make contacts with prospective customers.
• Establish and approve surveys as and when required, to understand customer needs effectively.
• Provide guidance in the analysis of construction market trends, economic events, and competitor activities in international and regional markets.
• Manage internal processing of proposals / occasionally contribute to technical and non-technical portions of the proposals.
• Share responsibility to develop innovative marketing approaches and plans to effectively showcase QPM capabilities and offerings to the different segments of prospective customers.
• Provide market intelligence support to the Communications function and assist in all targeting, segmenting, and market positioning activities based on accurate market research.
• Participate in the pricing of QPM offerings aligned with competitor and industry benchmarking and promote the QPM image, its capabilities, and offering across domestic, regional, and international markets.
• Identify, build, and manage long-term relationships with strategic alliance partners in construction and project management. Initiate and complete proposals, presentations, terms and conditions, negotiations, and execution for collaborations, strategic alliances, JVs, agreements, mergers/acquisitions/divestitures, etc.
• Provide marketing expertise for the day-to-day management of products/services in the development pipeline. These activities include opportunity assessment, market evaluation, market research, financial evaluation, and other marketing needs required throughout the evaluation process.
• Define the product roadmap in the long, mid, and short term, incorporating customer needs, inputs, and feedback from other internal and external groups.
• Prepare overall business development plan and monitor execution
• Prepare budgets and produce timely financial and narrative reports for projects and BD initiatives.
• Interpret reports and advise the Marketing & Communications Director on the achievement of the project plan.
• Develops and manages appropriate administrative systems and procedures to sustain effective working practices.
• Oversee preparation of project proposals.
• Plan and manage the development of oral presentations related to specific proposals or to general business development (professional technical publications, trade show presentations, etc.).
• Communicate directly with suppliers and subcontractors, on a timely/regular basis.
• Create greater opportunities and business penetration with existing customers.
• Define job roles, allocate work to business unit staff, approve staff training needs, allocate bonuses/ incentives, and manage leave and overtime to ensure the efficiency of the group.
• Work closely with other members of the department to ensure smooth coordination in day-to-day functioning and achievement of role objectives.
• Assess the performance of those directly reporting to this position; provide regular feedback and ensure appropriate motivation to enhance overall organizational performance.
• Coordinate with the Finance department to arrive at optimal project funding arrangements.
• Coordinate with the other departments to develop financial forecasts and plan resources for the business model.
• Graduate in Business Management, Science or Engineering
• 12-15 years of experience
• At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial role in sales and business development with a Project Management organization.
