Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician (ROMD) is responsible for repairing and maintaining ROMD – Street Lighting electrical equipment, systems and components as required to ensure continuous and smooth operation of the business and prevent emergency shutdowns. Operational Responsibilities 1. Understand the function of Road Operation and Management Department 2. Carry out Electrical repair works on the networks and equipment 3. Monitor stakeholders work schedules, set priorities and ensure the appropriate assignment of equipment, materials, and personnel. 4. Administer, prioritize and oversee major repairs on the electrical network and equipment 5. Work proactively with the respective Lead Engineer and design consultants to resolve any design related issues. 6. Prioritize projects and assign work to outsourced maintenance crews to repair electrical related issues, taking into consideration the criticality of work to be executed. 7. Ensure that incidents / emergencies reported are attended to and resolved by the maintenance contractors or in-house teams 8. Perform emergency road maintenance and respond to public complaints and requests/ calls received from Customer Contact Centre / Road Management Centre 9. Assist the project team in ensuring that upgrading, and maintenance works are carried out as per the specified technical standards and that corrective action is taken as needed. 10. Liaise with stakeholders throughout Ashghal where appropriate, using various channels of communication, to ensure customer needs are met 11. Act as an ambassador for Ashghal and deal with customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times 12. Adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures in work and other corporate procedures and comply to any new work instructions 13. Assist other colleagues where required and according to business needs required.

Education & Qualifications • Minimum Diploma in engineering relevant subject or above • Physically fit to enter and work in confined spaces and the ability to undertake competency assessment to level required (essential) • Current/valid Qatar Driving License would be an advantage Experience • Minimum 8 years’ cumulative experience of electrical networks and equipment including 3 years managing contractors and leading a team • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary Organization preferably in the Middle East • Knowledge and experience in Civil works • Knowledge of electrical network and equipment, Civil works, Health and Safety, Environment policies, procedures and regulations. • Ability to deliver and support change • Competent in Microsoft Office Packages • Ability to learn fast and adapt to the framework system • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders and staff at all levels within the Organization
