  • Collections Manager Responsibilities:
  1. Overseeing collection in-depth and ensuring the accurate and timely invoicing.
  2. Setting payment collection goals and targets.
  3. Creating and implementing a strategy to improve the collection of outstanding credit.
  4. Implementing collection policies and procedures to avoid excessive outstanding credit.
  5. Ensuring that the company policy on recoveries is followed and that it is in line with state and federal regulations.
  6. Implementing deadlines for invoicing and payment collection.
  7. Negotiating with customers in cases when nonpayment occurs.
  8. Responsible for AR reconciliations & SOA.
  9. Remaining informed of any legislative procedural training regarding debt collection.
  10. Training and mentoring of staff members in the collections department.
  11. Liaise with legal consultants for the issues arising from defaulters.
  12. Responsible for Receivable/collections reports including KPI’s related to AR function.


Skills

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  2. 7-10 years of experience as a collections manager, (prior malls experience will be an advantage).
  3. Experience with ERP (SAP and/or Yardi will be an advantage) and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  4. The ability to work accurately and independently.
  5. Good verbal and written communication skills (very important).
  6. Excellent analytical skills, focus on detail.
  7. Good leadership and managerial skills.
  8. Accountability, strong time, and people management skills.
  9. Ability to work to strict deadlines.
