Location: Qatar Division: Construction Support Department: Civil Reports to: Projects & Construction Support Director We are seeking an experienced engineering professional with strong expertise in aluminum and steel works to lead our workshop operations. This role oversees the complete lifecycle of structural fabrication, site support, and engineering coordination across major construction projects. Role Objective The primary objective of this position is to manage all aluminum and steel workshop activities while maintaining technical integrity, ensuring timely production, enforcing quality standards, and coordinating effectively with design teams, project sites, procurement, and clients. Key Responsibilities You will support the strategic direction of the department and ensure that workshop operations align with project and organizational goals. The role involves continuous coordination with the Design Team to validate structural integrity and resolve engineering or façade‑related issues. You will guide QA/QC engineers in preparing accurate technical submittals, manage the entire procurement cycle to secure timely material delivery, and oversee vendor sourcing, negotiations, and performance evaluations. The position requires consistent site presence to monitor progress, address constraints, and oversee all phases of project execution from mobilization through final handover. You will supervise manpower distribution, subcontractor activities, and day‑to‑day workshop operations while ensuring full compliance with project specifications and QHSE standards. Building strong client relationships is essential, and you will represent the company in meetings, presentations, and technical discussions. You will also ensure the implementation of IMS requirements and adherence to safety and environmental procedures. Key Interactions Internal teams include Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Design & Development, and Planning & Controls. External interactions include consultants, client representatives, and subcontractors. Qualifications & Experience Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 10 to 15 years of experience in a similar leadership role within a contracting or construction company or Workshop. A strong understanding of architectural and civil engineering concepts, construction methods, and project lifecycles is essential. Excellent English communication skills, strong reporting abilities, and the capacity to work under challenging weather conditions are required.
