Job Title: AV Technician Location: Qatar Department: Events Technology Reporting To: Events Technology Operations Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview We are seeking a proactive and technically capable AV Technician to support daily event operations within a hospitality environment. The ideal candidate should have foundational AV knowledge and the ability to independently operate hotel in-built AV systems across ballrooms, meeting rooms, and F&B outlets. This role requires hands-on technical operation, strong communication skills, and disciplined inventory management practices. Key Responsibilities Event & Technical Operations Operate and manage built-in hotel AV systems (audio, projection, lighting, LED displays). Support ballroom meetings, conferences, and social events. Operate small band performances and live entertainment setups within F&B outlets. Conduct sound checks and ensure smooth event execution. Troubleshoot basic audio, video, and control system issues in real time. Liaise directly with clients and hotel teams during events. Inventory & Asset Control Maintain updated inventory records. Prepare and submit equipment movement logs. Report damages and prepare quarantine reports for faulty equipment. Ensure proper storage, handling, and maintenance of AV equipment. Assist in periodic stock audits. Communication & Coordination Communicate clearly with hotel operations teams. Maintain professional conduct with clients and entertainers. Provide timely updates to the Operations Manager regarding event status and technical concerns. Candidate Requirements Basic to intermediate AV knowledge (audio systems, mixers, wireless mics, projectors, LED screens). Ability to operate small live band setups (mixing console, stage monitors, basic lighting). Good command of spoken and written English. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset. Basic understanding of reporting and documentation. Previous experience in hotel or event venue operations is an advantage. Preferred Skills Familiarity with digital mixers (e.g., Yamaha, Allen & Heath). Understanding of signal flow and troubleshooting basics. Knowledge of wireless microphone frequency management.
