Job Summary
The VP of Engineering will Lead the bank’s end-to-end software engineering execution and modernization—across core domains—so delivery becomes predictable, higher quality, and consistently tied to customer and business value. You’ll be the hands-on engineering leader who sets standards, grows leaders, and drives an AI-enabled delivery system where Cloud, Automation, Agile, and AI are built into the way work gets done.
Key Responsibilities
Own engineering delivery outcomes across the bank: planning discipline, delivery governance, release confidence, and measurable throughput/quality improvements. Drive modernization roadmaps that remove structural bottlenecks (platform, integration, legacy constraints) and enable faster, safer change. Raise architecture and engineering standards (reliability, security-by-design, observability, API/service patterns) and ensure teams can execute them pragmatically in a regulated environment. Make Agile real: improve flow, reduce handovers, and turn delivery into a repeatable system that leaders and business stakeholders can trust. Automate the SDLC: standardize CI/CD, testing, security checks, and deployments to replace fragmented manual practices with consistent, auditable pipelines. Be customer-driven: partner closely with business colleagues to shape roadmaps and deliver products customers genuinely adopt—balancing speed, safety, and user experience.

Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications:
Relevant academic background in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, or similar). Advanced degree / Certification is a plus. Demonstrated ability to lead and scale engineering teams in a high-growth or complex environment.
Required Experience
Banking experience is mandatory , including a transformational role modernizing engineering practices, architecture, and delivery in a regulated environment. 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering within the banking or financial services sector, including 8+ years in senior leadership roles (e.g., Head of Engineering, Director, or VP level). Deep, credible background in software architecture and engineering—you can challenge designs, simplify complexity, and set standards teams follow. Proven leadership delivering outcomes through Agile operating models, automation/Dev Ops, and cloud engineering. Track record of turning manual, fragmented delivery into a more automated, measurable system. A sharp eye for cultural transformation: you improve how people work (ownership, accountability, learning) without grinding teams down. Strong communication with business and technology stakeholders; you translate constraints into options and make trade-offs explicit.
