Job Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the operation of security systems, security control room and to ensure that security systems, procedures and other guidelines are implemented, and standards fully comply with the requirements to ensure security of the entire Group’s domestic assets, properties and staff. Supervises onsite resources to ensure that adequate levels of physical security are maintained at all times.
Main Responsibilities
Shareholder & Financial: Ensure that all QNB premises (in Qatar) are secure to prevent any losses. Implements KPI’s and best practices for Branches Security. Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise
benefits for the bank.
Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent. Customer (Internal & External): Supervise the provision of security services to all QNB premises (in Qatar). Assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests. Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve
improvements in turn-around time.
Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives. Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory): Supervise and oversee the static & mobile guarding activities, as per assigned instructions. Monitor all security operations to ensure these are conducted according to QNB policy and Qatar law. Monitor all Guard posts to ensure they are manned as per roster, that good house-keeping is maintained and that
a proper handing over of shift systems is in place.
Monitor that security staff are conducting their work in a safe and responsible manner and reports deficiencies to
the Security Officer.
Receives & reviews incident reports from the guard force on: labour unrest, signs of damage/theft, intrusion, or
hazards and informs the Security Officer & Security Operations Centre accordingly.
Institute contingency plans, ensure that correct procedures are followed and control the situation until relieved by
Manager. Makes tactical decisions and assigns staff in response.
Ensures physical security equipment is operational and that personal equipment is accounted for. Report
deficiencies to the Manager & the Technical Projects team.
Perform on-site remedial, or on-job-training, plan and compile reports in regards to security drills and exercises. Conduct Security information meetings – “Tool Box Talks” with all staff on shift. Ability to display customer service skills, conflict resolution, negotiating, dealing, making decisions and solving
problems.
Ensure implementation & compliance of security policies and procedures in all QNB premises. Conduct routine inspection to Branches/offices ATMs ensure compliance of security procedures. Coordinate with Security guarding Supervisors and SOC supervisors on security issues and to derive appropriate
solutions.
Monitor & review SOC Operations and produce reports to higher management on any violations/issues to be look
into for further improvement on security procedures.
Supervise QNB security senior officer/officer as well as security company staff. Conduct initial investigation of offenses and report findings to the Manager HQ/Branches. Conduct security checks to ensure security equipment are functional (such as break-in alarms, CCTV monitoring,
burglary lock down systems, etc.) and monitor Supervisors and security company staff.
Assist in conducting Fire Drill and surprise security check-ups to ensure the premises & staff are well aware of
Evacuation procedures & security polices.
Provide guidance and training to security personnel on the use of preventive security equipment’s. Liaise with the Police Department/Control room as and when needed. Oversee and monitor bank access procedures, provide guidelines and monitor the process of ID passes issuance,
checking, return and procedures in case of loss of ID.
Monitor the security expenditure against the budget and recommend the appropriate action to deal with any
adverse budget variances.
Learning & Knowledge: Able to co-ordinate various security activities simultaneously. Identify any areas for professional development of self and all direct reports, and act to enhance professional
development of self and others.

Give a complete briefing & handover to the on coming shift prior to completing the shift. Accounts for all security
equipment on shift.
Ability to display effective communication to all staff regarding all security related information and operational
requirements.
Demonstrate ability to work under minimal supervision, ensuring all security staff and operations are complied
with.
Complying Safety & Security requirements ensuring all security sites and operations are safe for security,
clients/customers. Complete reports identifying any security or safety risk.
Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field. Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities: Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to,
Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control
Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify measure,
monitor, manage and report risks.
Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy. Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the
Operational Risk Management requirements.
Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence. Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank. Other: Ensure high standards of confidentiality with regard to QNB security operations. Ensure security procedures are in line with Group’s Business Continuity Management and disaster recovery
requirements.
Follows a set of established procedures and regulations. Exercises independent judgement and initiative in
making decisions of a routine security nature. Non-routine work aspects are reviewed by the management.
Maintain utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of
business and provide such information on a need to know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and
Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.
Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position. All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time
Education And Experience Requirements
University or diploma graduate preferably with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study). At least 6 years’ of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank.
