Job Purpose:
To review and interpret clinical data, and make medical judgements and needed participant referrals.
Key Result Areas:
- Participate in the review, revision and implementations of clinic policies and procedures
- Ensure professional operation of the biometrics station in order to promote a positive participant experience
- Provide expert interpretation of clinical data collected from patient histories and a panel of specified physical and clinical measurements and assessments including:
MRI
3D carotid ultrasound
Blood pressure
Pulse
ECG
Height
Weight
Body composition using a body composition analyser (bioimpedance)
Bone densitometry
Whole body scan using an IDEXA scanner
Lung function tests (including spirometry)
Retinal photography
Clinical laboratory analysis of peripheral venous blood
- Review flagged "abnormal" data for clinical context and relevance
- Decide appropriate clinical action, in line with agreed-upon clinical decision algorithms and referral mechanisms
- Explain findings to participants as appropriate, with recommendations for further action
- Where appropriate, make referral to clinical services within Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) or own private doctors in accordance with agreed referral mechanisms
- Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Internationally-recognized medical qualification (e.g. , MB BS, MB ChB, MD, etc..)
- Registered or eligible for registration and licensing in the state of Qatar as a medical practitioner
- 6-8 years of clinical practice, at least 2 of which have been at the level of an independent practitioner following completion of a suitable training program; clinical research and supervisory experience preferred
- Competence in Phlebotomy, full training will be provided on all relevant standard operating procedures and clinical decision algorithms
- Knowledge of international norms and practices in biomedical ethics and research governance
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Takes the initiative to make safe and proportionate clinical judgements and resolve any issues that may arise to ensure that all participants have a positive, safe and valuable experience
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and articulate ideas clearly and concisely in both English and Arabic
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
