Job Title: Electrical Instrument QC Inspector
General Requirements
- Required Diploma Degree (Electrical / Electronics), but Preferred Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience including a proactive attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, and environmentally responsible operations.
- Must have good safety approach and working knowledge of JSA, Method Statement and PTW system.
- Knowledge of recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice and codes, risk-based inspection principles, and in-service techniques.
- Good analytical and computer skills, specifically in MS Office Suite
- Inspecting electrical wiring, Instrument, equipment, and installations to ensure they comply with local codes or international standards.
- Inspecting electrical equipment such as transformers, generators, HV, MV and LV cables, grounding protection, lightening protection, and circuit breakers, to ensure they meet manufacturer specifications and ANSI/NFPA guidelines for safety.
- Should have strong working knowledge of pre-commissioning / commissioning test like DC-hipot, AC voltage withstand, insulation resistance, oil BDV, DGA etc.
- Inspecting facilities such as offices, and Treatment Plant to ensure they meet electrical safety standards.
- Providing technical assistance to engineers to meet the facilities code requirements.
- Inspecting electrical equipment to ensure they are properly installed and working efficiently.
- Witness tests to verify that electrical equipment meets industry standards and company specifications for efficiency and capacity.
Specific Requirements
- Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls, and inspections, manage documents certifying tests, controls, and inspections.
- Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities on site as per Inspection Test Plan (ITP), request For Inspection (RFI) and Material Inspection Request (MIR).
- Checks cable laying and cable identification.
- Witness/survey all relevant loop checks.
- Witness all offline electrical tests like Hipot, IR, continuity test of power cables, Grounding, illumination survey, no load tests run etc.
- Witness cable jointing and termination of power and control cables
- Witness erection / installation of all I&E Equipment and ensure company specs or approved drawings are complied.
- Review Method Statements, Procedures, O&M Manuals, FAT & SAT Reports.
- Review as built drawings.
- Develop punch-list as a result of inspections.
- Checks power transformers, switchboard, accumulator battery, sockets outlet, lighting system.
- Performs visual inspections, dimensional test, checks rating and material for connection.
- Witness/Survey tests of continuity, insulation resistance.
- Witness/survey safety valves calibrations.
- Witness/survey instruments calibrations
- Check installation of instruments.
- Witness/survey functional test of instruments.
- Inspect pneumatic signal connection.
- Inspect fiber optic cable.
- Witness/survey communication functionalities test.
- Verify special processes and the relevant workers' qualifications.
- Witness the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
- Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan
- Monitor all material received at construction site as per requirements.
- Monitor the closure of Non-Compliance Report (NCR), Corrective Action Reports.
- Attend weekly Quality Standards Toolbox Talks with the Contractor QC and Construction Teams.
- Interface with EPC Contractors accordance with the roles and responsibilities.
- Providing field QA/QC support to the construction and commissioning team.
- Participate in FAT, iFAT, SAT & iSAT for DCS, SCADA, PLC, PESD, FGS, MMS, WHCP, HPUs, Well control modules.
- Must be able to remove and re-install all field instruments and be able to organize and carry out loop testing and trip testing.
- Should be knowledgeable to carry out fault finding and routine maintenance of Pressure, Temperature, Level and Flow loops, including removal and reinstallation.
- Should be able to undertake Pre-Commissioning and Functional Testing on new installations.
- Can read and understand drawings and functional logic diagrams, cause and effect matrices and control and IPF narratives.
