We are looking for a highly skilled Head of Systems and Solutions who can direct the development, implementation, and maintenance of business solutions and systems. The role is based in QTerminals Hamad Port in Doha, Qatar, and reports to the IT Director.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and direct the implementation of department strategy.
- Ensure that the department strategy and related strategic plans are aligned with the vision and mission of the organisation.
- Ensure the provision of subject matter expertise for the assigned domain.
- Manage the effective achievement of departmental objectives.
- Lead the talent development initiatives for the assigned department.
- Oversee the consolidation and recommend the department budget.
- Manage the implementation of the IT strategy for the business solutions.
- Review QTerminals’ business strategy and annual plan.
- Assist in the conceptualization, planning, development and testing of new IT solutions, and systems.
- Develop a comprehensive project plan for new IT systems.
- Manage all outsourced system projects that meet business need.
- Develop and implement quality strategy for all IT systems to ensure integrity and effective utilisation of the system.
- Lead the continuous improvement of IT systems and solutions.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in in Information Technology or Computer Science/Engineering or similar discipline from a reputable university.
- Master’s Degree in IT domains or MBA from renowned university would be preferable.
- 10 years of experience in related area, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Terminal knowledge or Port operation experience is preferred.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages, including MS SQL, C#.Net, ASP.Net, MVC, Oracle DB, JavaScript.
- Knowledge in Oracle Fusion/Cloud and other web technologies.
- Knowledge of database design and file management techniques.
- Knowledge of website development, intranet development and social media development.
- Knowledge of network and operating systems, Window Server, and desktop OS.
- Knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards.
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, Lean, and Scrum etc.
- Knowledge of database design and file management techniques.
- Extensive skill in leading teams from a multi-cultural background.
- Ability to work with key stakeholders, senior executives, management team and external partners/advisors through collaboration & teamwork in a non-hierarchical relationship framework.
