The job holder is accountable for the following activities during project execution by Major Project Division:
· To ensure that Contractor is following the technical requirements for material, welding, dimensional and testing activities during spool/risers prefabrication and offshore pipe-line laying.
· To perform welding inspection as per defined Quality Control plan.
· To implement the COMPANY Technical Referential and applicable local and international codes.
· To establish and implement the Project verification strategy in line with Regulations and COMPANY requirements.
The GALLAF EPCI7 Welding Supervisor has an Hierarchical Link to the Gallaf batch 3 – QA/QC Coordinator. He/she has a Functional Link to MP Welding Engineer for all technical matters involving welding activities.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· Qualification:
o Education to HND/BTS level or COMPANY approved equivalent in engineering discipline.
o Welding, certified to - AWS CWI, CSWIP Grade 3.2 or EWIP/IWIP-C or COMANY approved equivalent.
· Professional Experience (number of years): Around 10 years of experience associated to welding inspection of automatic welding process used for pipeline laying.
· A good knowledge of COMPANY Standards and International codes/standards related to pipeline (API/DNV).
· Comprehensive knowledge in welding, material and NDE.
· Good leadership skills and good communication skills.
· Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
· Be skilled in using computer programs for word processing, database management, spreadsheets and e-mail communications.
· Language: English mandatory.
· H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET trainings.
ACTIVITIES
· To promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and other COMPANY HSE procedures in all activities.
· To carry out work in compliance with COMPANY values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed COMPANY priorities and objectives, COMPANY standards and procedures and good industry practices.
· To treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality.
· Witness inspection activities based on the Quality Control Plan (ITP) in particular automatic welding process during pipe-laying.
· Perform all COMPANY quality inspections related to welding activity.
· Ensure that Contractor’s personnel are qualified for the task they’ve been assigned to.
· Ensure that material traceability system is maintained throughout the fabrication process and pipe laying.
· Review and endorse Contractor quality inspections related to welding and material traceability on a daily basis.
· Follow-up the Construction Contractor activities and ensure the contract requirements are applied.
· Monitor welding consumables management by Contractor including consumable test report.
· Witness welding procedures qualification, welder ability qualifications and production tests.
· Follow up the welding activities and ensure proper records are maintained (welding/NDE/inspection records follow-up).
· Participate in the issuance or resolution of Non-Conformance reports.
· Troubleshoot technical problems that may affect the construction and pipe-laying.
· Identify the critical activities and bottleneck for the progress of spools/risers and pipelaying activities related to welding. Anticipate; propose solutions to improve welder’s productivity.
· Follow up the welding activities and ensure proper records are maintained (welding/NDE/inspection records follow-up).
· Implement continual improvement processes, (Reporting, KPI, Lessons Learned, Close Out Report).
· Participate in the weekly meeting and in the issuance of weekly report and KPIs.
· Issue flash report to project on a daily basis.
· Review and approved inspection records books.
