- The Permit Coordinator is responsible for developing, supporting, tracking, and expediting the application and approval of construction related permits for RLPP, including the development and approval of technical submittals in support of the permit process, as an integral part of the owner’s project management team.
- The Permit Coordinator will actively participate in the Design, Construction and Startup phases of the RLP Project.
Your Tasks
- Communicate effectively between RLP Project Management Team, Contractor’s execution team to facilitate the timely submittal, review, and approval of permit applications, including the associated design and construction documents
- Ensure all applicable documents are completed and are included in permit applications, in accordance with RLIC guidelines
- Develop and maintain an effective tracking system to ensure the status of all project permits are regularly communicated in support of actively permitting RLPP activities to meet required schedule
- Routinely access RLIC’s electronic Consolidated Permit to Work (eCPW) system to monitor the status of all permit applications and take further action as required
- Expedite Company, Contractor, and as required to ensure the timely completion of all permit related activities, manage permit extensions as needed, and ensure permit close out requirements are met
- Supports the establishment of the RLPP safety culture at the construction site
- Routinely observe and audit eCPW/contractor PTW site safety compliance and competency at the point of work
- Communicate effectively with company / contractor safety and construction team on permit and site safety compliance challenges
- Daily sanctioning of eCPW and site verification for eCPW compliance
Your Profile
Required Qualifications:
- At least 8 years’ experience supporting the construction of major oil and gas or petrochemical industrial projects
- At least 3 years’ experience supporting construction permitting activity
- At least 5 years’ experience working in the Middle East, preferably in Qatar
- At least 2 years’ experience working in Qatar’s Industrial Cities (RLIC or MIC)
- Previous experience with work permitting systems
- Expert proficiency with MS Office (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Commitment to meet and maintain COVID requirements in Qatar
- Qatari driving license and ability to travel frequently between Doha and Ras Laffan Industrial City
- Commitment to stay on the project through mechanical completion
- Fluent in English
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Excellent team building skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering, computer, or administration related field
- Experience working with RLIC’s eCPW permit to work system
- Certified RLIC eCPW Permit Approver
- Proficiency in Aconex Document Management System
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power Automate and/or Power BI
- Arabic reading and speaking considered a plus
