Job Summary:
A hands-on candidate with analytical skills and attention to details and accuracy who will be responsible in the preparation and analysis of financial information and financial reports both in EXCEL and/or SAP on monthly basis or at ad-hoc basis. The candidate will also be responsible in performing the general administration and follow-up of all purchasing procedures within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records and information
Prepare periodic accounting or financial reports in Excel
Prepare and update monthly account closing entries in SAP
Prepare and update analysis of AR & AP
Responsible for GL entries/posting in SAP
Proactively follow changes in laws and accounting standards
Purchasing
Secure the best possible price for all purchases based on sound purchasing practices and negotiations
Review current sources of supply and pursue new supplier development based on avoiding single source of supply, identifying new suppliers with lower rates
Propose alternate material standards where it appears justified in terms of cost savings or new sources of supply
Ensure value of goods is guarded properly with periodical checks
Interact with vendors for purchase order acknowledgment & deliveries and coordinate with the shipping department for the clearance of goods
Interact with warehouse for the receipt of goods
Handle and expedite Material Requests
Submit enquiries and requests for quotations and evaluate quotations received
Issue Purchase Orders
Monitor Vendor performances
General
Maintain confidentiality of information at all times
Engage in rotation-of-work with the peers in finance department to facilitate work during their absence
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
Handle other duties as assigned
Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline; CMA, CPA qualification an advantage
5+ years of relevant accounting experience
Comprehensive analytical skills with attention to details and accuracy is a must
Advanced computer skills especially in Excel is a must
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Understanding of regulatory requirements for financial reporting (including IFRSs) is an advantage
Experience in SAP is an advantage
Eager to further develop in field of finance and accounting
