Construction Project Lead

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Focal point for all Offshore and Onshore construction activities, promoting and implementing safety on construction site. Implement the safety observations reporting and monitoring. Lead the NFS Pipelines construction team and keep the team committed to targets defined by the project management.
  • Identify and organize all required onshore construction support, coordinate all technical interface and alignment requirements with other interface projecct, Third Party Operators and QatarEnergy RLIC to ensure timely and effective close out of Project Interface Queries.
  • Anticipate, prepare and supervise all construction, liftings and related activities for the Project, to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.
  • Ensure coordination for NFS pipelines & cables site activities (including onshore survey supervision and coordination of all required permitting and approval requirements) and provide technical support to contractor to ensure all technical packages are adequately reviewed to aid timely approval from the relevant authorities.
  • Review EPCI Contractor documentation related to onshore construction and participate in Constructability reviews as the Project’s key focal point, and similar workshops such as HAZID/HAZOP during EPCI phase.
  • Supervise the construction input into gate deliverables and offshore and onshore site implementation.
  • Participates in review of Subcontractors to ensure that adequate control and changes in work procedures are established.
  • Ensure Contractor execution documents and other required submittals are timely reviewed and approved in accordance with the EPC contract requirements. Monitors EPC Contractor’s construction activities and provides advice as necessary to ensure that the Project Specifications are met within budget and schedule. Directs construction of systems in accordance with priorities established by Systems Completions schedule.
  • Review and propose mitigation for construction aspects of the Risk Management Plan and monitor the mitigation when agreed. Review all pipelines & cables construction changes, including justification for cost and schedule impacts, in accordance with the PMOC procedure.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering Degree or similar, relevant experience maybe taken if coupled with HNC/HND.


Knowledge and/or Experience

  • 10 years experience in construction with at least 8 years demonstrated at a senior construction level in major capital pipeline & cable projects within the offshore oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry
  • Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from variety of cultural backgrounds
  • Worldwide experience with contractors in particular those involved in the construction of onshore and Offshore pipelines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT
