The Patient Safety Officer is responsible for working with clinical and non-clinical staff for the purpose of measurably improving patient safety and reducing patient harm/errors.
Skills required:
Provides direction to the organizational patient safety strategy.With appropriate collaboration, designs, coordinates and directs the development of comprehensive Patient Safety and Risk Management Plans/Programs.Experience required:- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in a hospital facility required, Quality/Risk experience, required.
- High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff, and other customers.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking, flexibility, and creativity when resolving customer issues.
- Ability to apply critical thinking, communication, influence, and flexibility to make optimal decisions based on multiple variables and desired outcomes.
- Ability to organize and define problems, develop strategies, and carry out action plans.
- Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Recognizes and accepts accountability for safety and care of patients.
- Demonstrated patient centered / patient valued behaviors.
