English Copywriter

Action Qatar, part of Action Global Communications, an award-winning integrated marketing communications agency, is looking for an English editor/copywriter, to be embedded with our client.


The ideal candidate will need to be passionate about creating experiences that transcend traditional marketing boundaries. As a member of the creative team, you will collaborate with the wider team and contribute your exceptional creativity and brilliant copywriting skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content development and review:

  • Develop and deliver all English content (traditional and online) required by the client.
  • Ensure that all final copies are newsworthy, up to a high editorial standard, on message, and tailored to the targeted audience.
  • Work with the embedded team to finalize all materials, ensuring sufficient newsworthiness, client tone of voice, as well as the basics of correct spelling, grammar and sentence structure on the process and workflow of all English content.
  • Develop crisis communications related content in a timely manner.
  • Develop a holistic raft of backend collaterals, including case studies and other, as and when required.
  • Combine creativity with knowledge of the media to recognize newsjacking opportunities, story angles, and generate positive news coverage, profile pieces, op-eds, interviews and features across a broad media spectrum.


Day-to-day:

  • Work with the senior embedded team to develop a monthly editorial calendar and ensure the roll out is on track.
  • Work with senior embedded team to identify relevant awards/ category nominations and develop award-winning submissions.
  • Commit to internal deadlines to ensure client expectations are met and content is delivered up to the expected standard.
  • As and when possible, work with the senior embedded team to conceptualize and develop initiatives and PR stunts that will help raise brand awareness.


ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in marketing, English Language, journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar position at an agency.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to think outside the box and generate innovative ideas.
  • In-depth understanding of digital and social media trends.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing past work.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills in Arabic and English, with refined writing, proofreading, editing, and speaking abilities.
  • Excellent communication, project management and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing disciplines and social media platforms.
