Qatar Living, Qatar’s leader in online marketplaces is going through an exciting phase in scaling up our operations, teams and services. We are looking for a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join us and contribute to the growth taking place.


Role Overview:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a key leadership role in managing day-to-day operations and driving the overall strategic direction of QatarLiving.com. As COO, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the business operations while delivering seamless user experience. You will work closely with the CEO to translate strategic goals into actionable initiatives, foster a collaborative company culture, and scale the platform’s growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee the daily operations of QatarLiving.com, including management of key departments such as product development, marketing, customer service, and sales.
  • Implement and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and user experience.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination between departments.


Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Collaborate with the CEO to develop and execute the company’s business strategy.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to identify new opportunities for growth and diversification.
  • Translate long-term goals into actionable plans, setting priorities and driving initiatives forward.


Financial Oversight:

  • Manage the company’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Ensure revenue targets are met by optimizing monetization strategies across the platform, including advertising, subscriptions, and premium services.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.


Product & Service Innovation:

  • Collaborate with the product and tech teams to enhance platform features, ensuring QatarLiving.com remains a top-tier service provider.
  • Identify potential partnerships, acquisitions, or new services that can further differentiate the platform.
  • Stay abreast of technological innovations and trends within the digital marketplace industry.


Sector Leadership – Properties, Vehicles, Jobs, and Classifieds:

  • Lead the strategic development and optimization of the platform’s key verticals:
  • a. Properties: Drive innovation and user engagement for the real estate section, focusing on growing the number of property listings, enhancing search functionality, and building partnerships with property developers and agents.
  • b. Vehicles: Oversee the vehicles section to expand the inventory of car listings, improve user experience in buying/selling vehicles, and foster collaborations with dealerships.
  • c. Jobs: Manage and develop the jobs section, ensuring the platform attracts top employers and job seekers by offering an intuitive and efficient job-matching experience.
  • d. Classifieds: Expand the classifieds section by optimizing user engagement, improving listing quality, and ensuring robust content moderation for a trusted user experience.
  • Develop growth strategies for each vertical, identifying ways to increase traffic, enhance user experience, and monetize listings.
  • Analyze performance metrics for each vertical, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and maximize revenue.


Team Leadership & Culture Building:

  • Develop a high-performing team by fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Set performance expectations, mentor team members, and ensure staff development and engagement.
  • Promote collaboration and communication across departments.


Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, investors, advertisers, and key clients.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the company, representing QatarLiving.com at public and industry events.


Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, E-Commerce, Technology, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably as COO or similar, within the digital marketplace or technology sector.
  • Strong understanding of online business models, digital marketplace strategies, and platform monetization techniques.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling a business, with a focus on operational excellence and revenue growth.
  • Specific experience in managing classified listings for properties, vehicles, jobs, and other marketplaces is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and align teams towards common goals.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and managing P&L.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Knowledge of the Qatar market and GCC region is highly desirable.
  • English language is a must
