Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Doha, Qatar

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Department: Finance


Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a key strategic partner to the executive leadership team, significantly influencing the company's long-term strategy and financial well-being. The CFO is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including financial planning, reporting, compliance, and risk management. The role ensures the company's financial stability, adherence to regulations, operational efficiency, and maximization of profitability and shareholder value.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Offer strategic recommendations to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive team.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee long-term budget planning and cost management in line with the company's strategic plan.


Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Lead processes for financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial metrics to ensure financial health and sustainability.
  • Create financial models and conduct scenario analysis for major business initiatives.


Reporting & Compliance:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and tax advisors to ensure proper audit, reporting, and compliance.


Operational Efficiency:

  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, technology, and systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage all finance-related operations, including accounting, payroll, and treasury functions.
  • Oversee procurement and expense control measures to optimize profitability.


Risk Management:

  • Assess and manage financial risks related to markets, investments, currency fluctuations, and operational exposure.
  • Develop and implement policies to mitigate financial risks, ensuring adequate insurance coverage and robust internal controls.
  • Oversee the company's capital structure, debt management, and equity funding strategies.


Capital Management & Fundraising:

  • Manage capital structure and strategies related to debt and equity financing.
  • Cultivate relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.
  • Lead capital-raising activities, including equity or debt financing initiatives.


Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance, accounting, and investment teams.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance within the finance department.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top financial talent.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Finance preferred.
  • CPA or CFA or CA designation is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Over 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including in a senior financial role (VP of Finance, Director of Finance, or CFO).
  • Proven track record of managing the financial performance of a company or division successfully.
  • Experience with financial modeling, capital markets, and corporate finance.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with ERP systems, financial planning tools, and advanced Excel skills.
