Job Summary:
The Rigger will be responsible for preparing and aligning the necessary equipment to lift, move, and position heavy materials safely. The individual must have a deep understanding of rigging methods, load calculations, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up rigging and lifting equipment such as ropes, pulleys, cranes, and winches to safely move large and heavy materials.
- Inspect rigging equipment before use and ensure that it meets all safety and operational requirements.
- Work closely with crane operators and other team members to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
- Align, level, and anchor machinery.
- Signal crane or hoist operators to safely move loads into position.
- Dismantle rigging equipment after job completion and safely store it.
- Follow safety protocols to prevent injury or accidents during the lifting process.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and project specifications to ensure proper rigging.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Skills
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Rigger or similar role in the construction or oil & gas industries.
- Familiarity with rigging equipment and heavy machinery.
- Ability to read technical drawings and rigging plans.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in rigging.
- Good physical strength and stamina.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant certification or license (e.g., NCCCO Rigger Certification, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in large-scale construction projects or industrial settings.
