Procurement Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and experienced Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team of companies. The role involves overseeing the entire supply chain cycle, from sourcing products to managing vendor relationships and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The Procurement Officer will report directly to the Head of Department and collaborate closely with various departments to meet organizational needs efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing and Procurement: Identify reliable suppliers and vendors through market research and networking. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
  2. Supply Chain Management: Manage the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management. Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages and excesses, optimizing costs and efficiency.
  3. Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Evaluate vendor performance regularly to ensure compliance with contracts and quality standards.
  4. Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare and manage procurement budgets. Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement processes and vendor relationships.
  6. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, expenditures, and savings. Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with departments across the organization to understand their procurement needs and provide strategic procurement support.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or similar role, preferably within a group of companies or diverse business environment.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional certification in Procurement (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
    • Experience in implementing procurement best practices and process improvements.
