Job Summary
The Strategy Director is responsible for formulating and executing strategic initiatives aimed at improving performance, enhancing competitiveness, and driving value growth across our telecom investments. The role aims to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the telecommunications portfolio and collaborates with senior leadership to drive performance, innovation, maintain competitive advantage and additionally, oversee budget management and resource allocation to support strategic initiatives and value growth across telecommunications investments.
Job Responsibilities 1
Develop and refine the strategic direction for the telecom portfolio in alignment with overall investment goals. This includes identifying new market opportunities, assessing competitive landscapes, and recommending actionable strategies.
Conduct comprehensive market analysis, including industry trends, technological innovations, regulatory developments and competitive intelligence.
Utilize insights to inform strategic decisions, identify areas for expansion or diversification, evaluate and propose potential acquisitions or divestitures within the telecom sector. Provide strategic insights and due diligence support to assess opportunities and risks effectively.
Collaborate with senior management of telecom portfolio companies to define strategic priorities and allocate resources effectively, optimize operational efficiencies, streamline processes, and enhance overall performance metrics.
Evaluate performance metrics to track progress and adjust strategies as needed. Monitor industry regulations and technological advancements to ensure compliance and innovation.
Implement best practices across portfolio entities to maximize synergies and value creation.
Achieve buy in for the strategic plans and proposals from the PIH leadership, portfolio company executives, and external stakeholders (including industry partners, consultants, and regulatory bodies).
Lead cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives and achieve business objectives. Foster strong relationships to facilitate collaboration and achieve strategic objectives.
Job Knowledge & Skills
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful strategic initiatives. driving innovation, managing risk, and achieving sustainable growth in the business. Ability to think critically, analyze complex issues, and formulate innovative solutions.
Deep understanding of the telecom sector, including market dynamics, technologies, regulatory environment, and emerging trends.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and performance metrics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good knowledge of Russian is preferred.
Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely to senior management and stakeholders.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 15 year(s) working experience, 10 year(s) in a relevant management/leadership position, 5 year (s) GCC is a plus.
Education
- Master's degree in Business Administration
- Bachelor's Degree in any related field
