Role Description The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all lifting operations at project sites to ensure they are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards and procedures. This full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar includes planning and coordinating lifting activities, inspecting lifting equipment, and confirming that cranes and lifting gear are suitable and certified for the intended tasks. The Lifting Supervisor will prepare and review lifting plans, conduct risk assessments, and brief lifting teams on safe work methods and site-specific hazards. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring ongoing lifts, liaising with site management, contractors, and equipment operators, and stopping work when unsafe conditions are identified. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, supporting incident investigations, and contributing to continuous improvement of lifting practices and safety culture.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supervising lifting operations in construction, industrial, or energy-sector projects, with strong knowledge of crane and rigging practices.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements for routine and critical lifts.
• Solid understanding of international and local safety regulations, standards, and best practices related to lifting and hoisting operations.
• Ability to inspect and verify lifting equipment certifications, load charts, and maintenance records, and to identify unsafe conditions or non-compliance.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for working with crane operators, riggers, engineers, and site management teams.
• Relevant technical qualification or certification in lifting operations, rigging, or crane supervision (e.g., recognized Lifting Supervisor/Rigging Supervisor certification).
• Proven capability to deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings, promote safe behaviors, and support incident reporting and investigation processes.
• Basic computer skills for maintaining records, preparing reports, and using project documentation systems; familiarity with construction or industrial work environments is an advantage.
